Optomap takes pictures of the back of your eye (the retina) so the Doctor can check the overall health of the eyes. Optomap allows the Doctor to see 30 times more of the retina than with dilation. That means he most often does not have to dilate, leaving you without the light sensitivity and other side effects of dilation.
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) takes a virtual biopsy of the inside of the eye. The Doctor uses OCT to check on the progress of glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy treatment on a real-time basis, which provides on-going information to aid making any treatment adjustments necessary to successfully address the problem.
Visual Field Testing
Visual Field Testing allows the Doctor to measure any peripheral vision loss early in its occurrence, thereby improving the chances of correcting the problem before it becomes more serious.
